Safety Not Guaranteed was one of the defining memes of YTMND. This meme, or YTMND fad, depicted a time traveling man with a mullet next to a newspaper ad asking for help going back to the past. Accompanied by Paul Engemann's song Push it to the Limit, this meme took over all of YTMND for a long time. As time went on, however, an increasing amount of YTMND users tried to find out the origin of the mysterious ad. Was it in fact a real ad that had run in a newspaper? Who created it? Was there legitimately a person who believed they had traveled back in time? A few YTMND users investigated the Safety Not Guaranteed meme, and found that there was actually a phone number attached to the PO Box. Many people called the number, but without finding out much about the ad or the mullet man. Eventually, coinciding with the release of the Safety Not Guaranteed movie, the person who wrote the original time traveler ad revealed its secrets.
